30 Hour Famine

Coming up next Saturday the junior high and the high school groups are coming together to participate in a 30 hour famine. During this time, our goal is for the kids to grow closer together and closer to God. By not eating for 30 hours, I believe that it will give the kids a sense of what it really means to strive for God. We will be helping out at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc. and we will also have a deep worship setting around sunset. At the same time, Nick (the junior high pastor) gave the kids a goal. The goal is for each kid to raise $5oo on their own to go towards benefits in Africa. This is going to be a great experience for both the kids and myself, and I can't wait!
